Awarded on January 24, 2008 (2007-2008 Second Quarter) |
| Carolyn K. Algebra II In recognition of her outstanding performance and achievement. Most Improved Student "Carolyn improved in many ways during the last nine weeks. At the beginning of the school year, she decided to challenge herself by taking this after-school course, which is at least a level ahead of where she is academically and developmentally in public school. Additionally, the material covered during this last quarter was advanced at the Algebra II level - it included conic sections, trigonometric and exponential functions, and functions and inverse functions. Despite these challenges, she scored a 91% and a 100% on quizzes. Also, she functioned developmentally at a couple of years ahead of her grade level. She received less instruction and was required to work more on her own. Because of this significant growth, Carolyn has earned “Most Improved Student in Algebra II” for second quarter. Congratulations!" |
